Customer is always right? (Not AT ALL)

I have been trying to write about this for quite some time. I just haven’t have the time and incident to urge me to do this.

Tonight, let’s start. I am not venting, I am just letting my thoughts out on this matter.

First of all, who the hell started the stupid phrase “customer is always right?” “customer is king?” I wonder if that person has ever worked in the service field at all. Those phrases really pissed me off most of the time.

Not all customers are arseholes, but I am highlighting the arseholes that think they are entitled to be wait on hand and foot as if they own the business. For some companies or establisments, they value more customers rather their own workers who worked hard for bring business in.

Sounds unfair but that is the reality, customers really taking advantage of the phrase and thus they can do anything unthinkable and less smart to customer service/service provider staffs.

I just want to know why some customers feel so entitled until they bully the cashiers, salesperson, anyone who work in the customer service line? Why cant they be sensible, be kind and understanding? What’s with the double standard? Why look down on customer service staff? Everyone is working hard to make ends meet, why be mean when you can be more understanding?

For me, if you (customers) want to be treated right, you yourself have to treat others right as well, as the saying goes, “what you give, you’d get back” Don’t just think that you have the right to be shitty towards others that provide you services.

Maybe some of you wont be in sync with my thoughts but let’s just put it this way, everyone deserves to be treated fairly and that’s just it.

Hence, lets just be nice to each other,be more considerate and understanding despite the bad days that happened to us in our daily lives. NO ONE DESERVE to be treated badly. NO ONE.

Christmas Tree Lighting at Pullman Miri Waterfront

Hello Friends!

Christmas Festivities has officially begins!

I was invited by Pullman Miri Waterfront on 21st of November to witness the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony together with over 200 guests and members of the local press.

It was the second Christmas for Pullman Miri after they started operating a year ago.

The lobby was full with guests bringing their gifts along to be handed over to Sarawak’s Children Cancer Society, Miri Methodist Children’s Home, Miri general Hospital- Children Pediatric Ward and Catholic Society for the Urban Poor. Other than that, guests also can join in the contest which is to count the plastic bottles that were built into 16 feet magnificent Christmas Tree. The bottles were collected by the hotel staff throughout the year. Decorated with  mix of blue fairy lights, red-coloured Christmas baubles, a myriad of colourful ribbons and Christmas ornaments. The tree itself was the life of the hotel lobby.

The event started with Year 2 students from Tenby International School, singing some Christmas Classics. The kids are all adorable with their little santa hats and their cute smiles that make everyone go “awwwwwhh”

Mr Jayson Chong, the Hotel Manager gave a welcoming speech in the presence of Mr Eric Tan, the Chief Operating Officer ( Hospitality Division) of the hotel’s owning company, The Interhill group. To officiate the lighting, fairy dust was sprinkled ( I WAS STOKED IT WAS GLITTER DUST! YEY I LIKE!)  around the tree by a drone that was piloted by Mr M Fadzly bin M Khalil from Beyond Horizon Technologies Sdn. Bhd. It was a magical moment for all.

The event was continued with carolling by St. Columba’s Church, led by Bishop Solomon Cheong, Vicar of St Columba’s and conducted by Ms Josephine Augustine. After enjoying the Christmas Classics, we were ushered to Pullman’s Kitchen to have dinner (yeah, I was looking forward to the buffet spread as well.)

This year, Pullman Miri Waterfront showcasing numerous of festive dishes for the guests. From scrumptious pastries to wonderful savories, you will want more and more (although that time I am a bit shy). The Christmas Eve dinner bookings are already commenced on the 1st November till 10th of December 2017. Early bird price will be RM 68nett for Adult and RM 34 for Child.  On the 25th, Brunch & Dinner will be RM 68 nett for adult & RM34 nett for child-and the most exciting thing is you gonna have your makan with Santa!

These are some of the photos I took during the event

I would like to extend my gratitude towards Pullman Miri Waterfront for inviting me and my plus 2. It was a great experience and I am glad that I can give back to the needy and also spreading the joy and peace to the people I’ve met.

Till then,

Rocktober fest Borneo 2017

I. still.can’t . move on.

Last week was the best days of my life. Yes, far out the awesome of the awesome and I still feel the sore from it. LOL

For those who don’t get it, last week was the CRAZIEST AWESOME ROCKTOBER FEST BORNEO first ever being held in my hometown Miri. I did write about it few months ago remember? (Cuba scroll balik my blogpost) HAHA

Two days jam packed with great music, local and international acts; sharing the stage, it was surreal to see your favourite bands getting it on and you’re standing there gawking, dancing and singing along with them. It was so surreal.

The line-ups for the first edition of this festival were all bringing down the house or should I say brought down the Parkcity Everly Hotel? The idea of having rockfest by the beach was genius, minus the sandflies lah except I wasn’t bitten by them at all HAHA. The sea breeze, salty air and the most beautiful sunset was just the icing on the cake for this 2-days fest.

I won’t be telling you all about the performances because it will take me ages to tell you the goings-on during the rock fest. but I just want to let you know that I wont be moving on till the next edition of Rocktober Fest.

I did took some photos from the fest but it will be much better if you take a peek from

https://www.facebook.com/RocktoberfestBorneo/ (their official page)

A big kudos for Northeastern Group and all the great people behind Rocktober fest for pulling this all together and making it all happen. There will be more room for improvements but I am sure they are already at it for the next fest.

I am truly sorry if my writings are all rambling. I am still in the phase where i can’t move on. SO don’t mind me, okay.

Till then..

Cheezy-fied at Chillax.

I am still recovering from the chessy-load I had.

Oh well, hello readers! Welcome back to read all my random adventures and ramblings!

Me & the Sarawak Bloggers were invited for Pizzart by Anchor Food Professionals at Chillax Café & Bistro, Miri. For the record, Chillax Café is one of the best hangout place in Miri. 😉

What is that? It’s simple, PIZZA meets ART.  Artisanal pizzas that were conceptualised and created by Anchor Food & Professionals’ Hot Cooking Chefs (ermm define HOT🤔😙) as a way to help their partners create more excitement & variety in what they offer to their customers.

Why Chillax?

Chillax is one of AFP ( Anchor Food Professionals) partners and as well as that they have the facilities (pizza oven is a must) and kitchen crew with advanced culinary skills.

Participating Chefs & assistants were trained in the ways  of a skilled PIZZAIOLO ( a person who specialised in making pizza) by AFP in preparation for the launching of the campaign. They (chefs & assistants) were taught special skills to create unusual pizzas.

Multi-task products.

Only the finest of the finest ingredients were used to create scrumptious pizzas such as Anchor Mozzarella Shredded Cheese, Anchor Unsalted Butter, Anchor Colby Cheese, Anchor Cheddar Cheese and Mainland Edam Cheese (all products are certified HALAL) 🍕

Enough of that, let me share with you 3 out of 5 pizzas that were given to us to taste. 😙

Lil’ Quacks

Okay.. why Lil’ Quack? Because its actually with Smoked Duck inside the pizza muffin. On a daily basis, I don’t eat duck that much, but then surprisingly, this lil guy don’t give much hint about duck taste which is really confusing yet yummy. Though its a lil wee bit salty for me,but then..for duck lovers, this is a treat for you!

Price: RM 12.90

Lil Quack juicy fillings.

Pot Pie

As simple as its name, this pot pie is bursting with flavours! The Pizza Pie Crust is beyond perfection for me. With the saltiness from the Cheese & Buttery sensation to it,every bite is heavenly! I love pies and meat so yeah, this is the best pot pie I have ever tasted. Mind you, this pie can be shared maybe with 2 or 3 person as the portion is quite big for 1 person to eat alone; now you have a reason to bring people to eat together with you.

Price: RM17.90

Adjaruli Kachapuri

Sounds Indian but its not. This dish is a traditional Georgian- just a simple cheese-filled bread with egg. Best eaten while its hot and you know what is the best beverage to pair with this dish? Starbucks Sumatra Coffee. Or Red Wine 😉 . Cheese loaded with egg, somewhat tasted like Poached Egg with Cheese sans the bread lah. It is suitable for Vegetarian (that still can consume eggs) or anyone that don’t want to consume any meat on that particular day.

Price: RM16.90

There are actually 5 Pizza Masterpiece but then 3 were being put in the menu for the moment and available till November 2017.

Generally, Malaysians do love eating pizza- mainly because its a filling comfort food. With these kinds of creations, consumers will experience new level of excitement consuming gourmet pizza.

By doing this, AFP is paving a way to their partners to create varieties of what they can offer to their customers.

Artisanal pizzas will be available at:

  1. The Chubs Grill (Sabah)
  2. Mad Ben Cafe (Sabah)
  3. Chillax Cafe & Bistro ( Miri)
  4. Coup De Grill ( Bintulu)
  5. Bistecca & Bistro ( Sibu)
  6. Movida ( Branches in KL, Negeri Sembilan,Melaka & Johor)
  7. U Pizzeria ( Klang Valley & Perak)
  8. US Pizza ( Penang)
  9. Lunarich ( Penang)
  10. Ejohng Concept ( Johor)

Parkcity Everly Miri Weekend Buffet

Still can’t get over the food spread I had last Saturday at Parkcity Everly Hotel,Miri.

I love good food, I enjoyed eating and was given chance to take a bite (and MORE) was just truly awesome.

Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri (PCEHM) has been on hiatus for buffet spread for so long. I remembered when our school had hi-tea there for school prefects and the spread was awesome; and now, they are making a comeback for guests & locals.

Mr Andrew Law,PCEHM’s GM with his chef on duty showing some of the pastries

Selections of scrumptious desserts

Desserts spread

I don’t know why I automatically went to the dessert area but hey, they do made my mouth water. From cakes to tarts, surprisingly all are in moderate sugar content (lol gotta watch your calories & sugar intakes guys). My favourites were Chocolate pudding bread & Lemon cheesecake.

Tossed & Baked

Let’s talk about Salad. Previously I always said that Salad is Rabbit’s foot until I’ve had PCEH’s POTATO SALAD. They served the best POTATO SALAD (after me lah) I can actually eat the whole thing if allowed. 😂😅. So let me know MIRIANS,if there is any restaurant that serve potato salad much better than PCEH. Let me review them.😂

There are so many to choose from as you can see in the picture I posted. Let’s call it the usual lah. The normal salad that you’ve eaten. Actually the highlight from that bar was the BAKED WHOLE SALMON, I couldn’t resist to try it because I love salmon. It was cooked to perfection and I wish I brought sago together with me. (Typical Melanau🙄)

Main Course

From Thailand to Indian and local cuisine, for sure intrigue guests both in-house or walk-ins.

My take on the spread that had been served; everything is awesome- from food presentation to the food taste itself. Kudos for the team that have been working hard to give the best for their guests.

☝🏻 all you need to know about the weekend buffet dinner. Menus are on rotation basis,so it’s not going to be the same each week.

Bring your loved ones, go belanja your colleauge, have a buffet party on your own, make PCEH staffs busy😆.

If you go makan at Parkcity, jio me okay?

    Ready to Rock for Rocktoberfest?

    Hey readers!

Wait what? Its like mid August already? Where did January go? And next month is my BIRTHDAY MONTH! (Yeay)

Enough with blabbing about how fast the time flies, let me share with you another big music festival that got everyone all HYPE up. (After Borneo Jazz festival,of course)

ROCKTOBER FEST. Sounds familiar? It’s all in the social media already; first large scale open music festival mainly highlighting the rock music scene in Malaysia/neighbouring country.

    Why MIRI?

In my opinion, Miri music scene has been around for god knows decades but then the exposure is so little that you can only view and enjoy some gigs in pubs, lounge or whenever there is battle of the bands being organised. Other than that…nope.

Mirians love for music is beyond words. You can see local bands having their gigs around town/weddings/small to large events.

I guess when OAG came for their anniversary tour at Alice in Borneoland last March (wait what?) 😅 sidenote: that gig,I met my current boyfriend which I ignored until we go steady during Nice Stupid Playground & Kyoto Protocol gig😝- Thanks Alice! – The gig did made a huge impact on the locals to crave more and more for their favourite bands to come in and I guess they deciced that “why don’t WE get these all time favourite bands to have their show in MIRI?” (Probably lah I agak2 jer these organisers punya conversation)

Huge list I tell you. And I am actually excited to tell you all about the bands but I just highlight few so I won’t bore you 🙈

As you can see they already updated the bandlist which includes:- DRUMMMMROLLLL (budddmmtss)

    1) HUJAN

Everyone adores them. Starting as indie band to mainstream, this band won many hearts by their music. What’s more is the group vocalist is our very own Mirian, Noh Salleh (fangirl scream, not me) is going to perform in his hometown. From ‘Pagi yang gelap’ to current both solo and group album, these boys won’t let you down with their energy to get you dancing and singing to their beat!

    2. Estranged

Photo courtesy of Estranged FB page

Remember their award winning song, ‘Itu Kamu‘ and a duet song, ‘Hancur Aku‘ with Fazura? Yep,they are also on the list to perform this coming October. With mix of Malay & English songs, for sure will hype up the crowd with their energetic performance. Now who’s excited?

    3. Kyoto Protocol

Photo courtesy of Kyoto Protocol FB page

Their new single ‘KL I sayang you‘ is a song that you need to listen to because of reasons😆. They performed their first gig in Miri at Alice in Borneoland last May together with Nice Stupid Playground. This will be their second time around and I am sure they are excited to be back again.

    4.  Kugiran Masdo

Have you heard about them? Formed in 2015,they will bring the 60’s feel with slightly tweak of modern touch in their music. With the influence of Artic Monkeys & The Changcuters, I know you guys gonna be hype up! They just dropped 1 single titled  Bunga on iTunes, Spotify & Joox.

    5. Nice Stupid Playground

This band been around for many years back, I gues I was in primary 4 or 5 maybe. With the hits like Stereo Girl and bedroom window, for sure my boyfriend will scream like a fangirl because when they came to Alice in Borneoland last May, he’s beaming glowing gawking at his favourite band playing. ( love you sayang) hahahahha

    6. Oh Chentaku

Photo courtesy of Oh Chentaku fb page

With a mixture of rock tunes with punk, pop and electro influences. This band will give you alot of energy with their performance. Formed in 2007,they are getting more and more eclectic with their music

There are approximately more than 20 line ups for 2 days event; you will be served with various genres and also local acts will be performing as well. I am super stoked to see the local acts joining forces with big names in the MUSIC.

Make sure to use appropriate attire because this will be an full outdoor events so be ready for mosh pits and keep hydrated all the time.

This time this BIG SCALE music fest will be held in MIRI,SARAWAK so might as well MIRIANS show your endless support by getting your tickets and join in the fun!

For anyone that is outside of Miri, now its your hightime to pay us a visit! Give us chance lah to enjoy all the big names in the industry which we rarely meet. Haha! If you are in Peninsular, its 2 hours flight, if you are in Sabah, it takes 6-8 hour drive provided you have your passport because you have to go thru Brunei border. There is no reason for you to say “MIRI IS FARAWAY” because there are so many means and way to visit Miri.

The 2-days event will be held at BEACHFRONT PARKCITY EVERLY HOTEL MIRI, would you believe it? ROCKFEST by the beach? Two coolest thing ever! Make sure to have insect repellant ready lah ahahha.

6th-7th October 2017,mark your calenders already, apply your leave and plan your journey.

The event starts at 12:00 pm onwards so plan your day wisely.

    Sunkissed Hair

Hey! This a new blogpost, I just don’t know why I deleted the draft just now.

😑 the downside of phone blogging

Oh well, lets write another one!

    Let’s talk about my hair.

Lovely, right? Heheh let me tell you a story on how I get my hair sunkissed cantik beautiful.

Ivan, was looking for a hair talent, and me shamelessly offered myself to be hair-tortured.

I was slightly late for the appoinment (thank you for waiting,Ivan) and sat on the chair and let Ivan do his thing.

After getting rid of my split ends,my hair having quick wash to remove dirt & oil from my hair.

After drying, come the BLEACHING session. Getting rid of the black pigment from my hair is a bit tricky because my hair is stubborn just like me. So my hair turned orangey colour instead. Sobs.

I used to bleach my hair using drugstore product without knowing what is actually in the product. My hair previously  brittle and damaged and my hair fall was the worst!

Joico products has been so kind to my hair. After bleaching, I went for a really thoroughly hair washing to wash away the bleach.

Restoring back the nutritions back to my hair is crucial for the next step which was colours.

Applying colors is a very tough job, trust me I know. Its not like put here put there than voila! Nope, each strands of hair were being applied with different techniques ( i dont cant remember what was the techniques)

So, I sat for another 40mins + 25 mins more until the colours are all set.

My hair was wrapped with cling wrap lol

When all is done, I cant feel my butt because sitting for 6-7 hours, but then the results was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

By the time we were done its like 6:30 in the evening so we cant take photos under natural light and indoor lights wont do any justice either.

    We’re done!

I would like to thank Azores HairWork Taman Tunku, for the great hospitality while me having 7 hours session. 😂, Ivan for being so thoughtful and very kind to me and most of all Joico Malaysia for giving me opportunity to try the products. Sangat suka! More collaboration in the future please☺️☺️☺️😌.

    Having my break now.

The tragic news are flooding all over my social media page about the lead singer and musician of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington.

Lately we have been reading alot of suicidal tragedy. Let it be famous artiste, everyday people..you name it. Here’s a newsflash for you readers..DEPRESSION IS FUCKIN REAL.

I remembered when I am in such depression, anxiety and paranoia. I never talk about it to anyone. Suicidal thoughts haunting me and it keeps on coming in my mind.

You see, these thoughts are very very dangerous. You feel so isolated although you are with your friends,family..you feel unwanted although you ARE wanted. You start to withdraw yourself. Immersing in pool of anxiety, sadness and inferior complex.

Growing up, listening to Linkin Park’s songs, I really can relate to all of the lyrics written throughout the years. Trust me,the lyrics are the reflection of the lyricist. They day-to-day feelings about life they lived.

I know some of you have gone through deep sadness, mental issues and DEPRESSION. You are not alone. Please seek help, please talk, please.

Regardless of your beliefs, pray. Find peace in you. Never ever resort to any negative things. Although a ciggie or two can help at times 😌.

Mental illness is not a child play. Its high time for everyone to know that death is inevitable.

“I wanna feel, I wanna heal what I thought was never real, I wanna let go of the pain I’ve felt so long (Erase all the pain till it’s gone) I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along.. Somewhere I belong”

    Somewhere I belong.

    Rest well Chester.

    Till then,

Currently laying down, reading whatsapp from various groups and thinking should I eat or should I just shut my mouth.

I left my office job for mere 7-8 months now. If you ask me if I’m missing 9-5 job, part of me will say yes..part of me will say no.

I am a person of skills. I picked up skills as I do my daily task. For example, I never had a formal training on photography, yet I learnt alot from my photographer friends, practicing and reading.

I dropped out of my college because I got pregnant. Well, before this I think it was the biggest mistake but then now, everything that has happened has its own blessing in disguise.

For me, I have no problem on catching up. I’m a fast learner ( I guess LOL)😅 Maybe thats my talent kot. Sadly, those talents of mine are mostly not on papers. For example,I was told that I am good (i don’t think so) in sales & marketing & customers service. But I got no papers to show it to my potential employers.

” I have few set of skills yet I don’t have the paper” 😂.

Jadi, apa yang saya ingin sampaikan sekarang ni is, sometimes kena ada scroll, sijil, certificates whatsoever baru dapat cari makan. Hahhahahah.

I am currently menangguh my Degree sebab tak larat and all. I hope when I am ready and I am larat to go back to school, I can study in peace.

Anyhoo, I am grateful for the job I have now if not I got no money to pay my bills and car. LOL No lah, this job of mine really pushed me to the limits of how far can I go, how skilled I am dealing with human beings, how elastic my heart can be. I just wondered for how long I can bertahan in this industry.

So readers, thank you for reading my tonight’s rant.

You guys rock! (If only I ada readers lah)
    Till then,
